okay, so I'm giving in
Here's the newest one, just because of the surprise at the end, which makes sense really if you watch the whole thing...
Ambition to Create Novel Expression Underwear Autumn/Winter 2009:
I think it's interesting to note that Acne Underwear only produces underwear for men. now, there's a flip-flop on the lingerie business if there ever was one, seeing how there's a very limited market for fancy underwear for men. Time magazine even called it "weird." But some people are even starting whole lines surrounded by that concept, so there must be something to it...

matching game
Match the fashion house to the editorial images below. Each depicts the Fall 2009 collection. From Vman, on which I have previously expressed delight.
Choices:
Ralph Lauren Black Label
Calvin Klein
Prada
Louis Vuitton
Images:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Thanks to +joe. Check out the post for my favorites Dior Homme and Jil Sander (thanks to Kris Van Assche and Raf Simons).
---
Answers:
1. Calvin Klein (Italo Zucchelli) 2. Louis Vuitton (Paul Helbers) 3. Ralph Lauren Black 4. Prada (Miuccia Prada)
#3 suprised the hell out of me. I don't even know the name(s?) of the Ralph Lauren in-house designers (and neither did +joe).
So what's the point? IT'S NOT THE CLOTHES. IT'S HOW YOU WEAR THE CLOTHES.
(It's not fashion. It's style.)
Why did I make this post? Because there are UGG boots on the "fashion" spread of my high school yearbook. I am SO glad to be out of here next year.

I stole the keys to the skies
We'll leave this place for the final time
No crying words, no goodbyes
Yes tonight we're burning all the tough times
This boy's in love [this town, this street, your friends, you'll never see this place again]
Love [you'll think about it now and then, you'll never see our face again]

and now a commercial break from clothes and painting
I present you with FOOD:

henceforth, I will never ever diss food photographers again. there is an art to it, it turns out.
Hopefully I'll improve on my next outing. meanwhile, I'll enjoy my full stomach and an impulse purchase:

in my defense, I'd wandered into the new fair trade store downtown and couldn't resist it. for only $4! spare change in my wallet after doing a week's shopping. and come on - did you really think I could stop talking about clothes (a subset anyway: accessories) for one post? :P

this is to a girl who got into my head with all the pretty things she did
15 minutes' work while waiting for the Amherst chat room to load. They really need to get a better app/server/something. why in the world did it take 15 min to load?!

strangest thing is the lack of music or sound
Sunday, March 8, 2009
Singer with the sound down, winner on the come down, poet in the overcoat looking for a suntan, on his birthday, prisoner on his first day,
tired of the new wave.
Before

I see the steeple and the spire and a sunset, deep and red, phoenix and fireflies.
variations on a theme.

So when the birds fly south
I'll reach up and hold their tails
Pull up and out of here
And bridle the autumn gales

Pull up and out of here

Look up. Look up! The stars!
The day our house collapsed
I went down stream.
I followed the swans
Like i follow my dreams.
oh! i was living on borrowed time in a
borrowed house for a borrowed crime.
in need of help i came to your door.
saw the spike of the railings from
the 28/3rd floor.
singing
"build your castle, stop collecting stones
and the river bed shall not be your home"
To the lighthouse my friend!
I bless your words and education
To the lighthouse my friend.
just go! just go!
To the lighthouse my friend.
I am sorry that you came to find
"great great minds
against themselves conspire"
now the bombs drop around our feet,
do we throw them back
or bow and greet them
everyone now is so terrified
of the glowing dark
and those orange skies.
sing it:
"build your castle, stop throwing stones
cause those fire birds are
coming down on our homes"
To the lighthouse my friends
it cannot even be a question
To the lighthouse my friends
we must go, we must go

home stretch
He went up under the gray leaves
All gray and lost in the olive lands
And laid his forehead, gray with dust,
Deep in the dustiness of his hot hands.
After everything this. And this was the end.
All gray and lost in the olive lands
And laid his forehead, gray with dust,
Deep in the dustiness of his hot hands.
After everything this. And this was the end.

take me wandering through these streets where bright lights and angels meet
I hear in my mind all of these voices
I hear in my mind all these words
I hear in my mind all of this music
